Beautiful weather was predicted this weekend, and for once they were right.
Clear skies, sunshine and a light breeze meant it was lovely conditions to go for the big 16 miler.
Plan today was to go to Nacton, Bucklesham and then head home via Martlesham. But, stupidly, when I planned the route I forgot about the big dual carriageway in the way. Crossing it could have been possible, but it was heavy-traffic Sunday, with everyone bombing down to Felixstowe to pick up some cheap tat at the market.
Instead, I altered my route somewhat so that I coasted into Trimley St Martin, ran through the village, and then crossed the A14 via the footbridge.

I ran through into Kirton, which is somewhere where I haven't been through for years. It's particularly picturesque and pleasant, and fondly reminded me of "Little House on the Prairie", with pictures below to support!

After taking a Lucozade gel and some fluids, I carried on my journey back home. 10 miles in I was ably assisted with music by my friend Mark Chalklen on cornet playing Flowerdale (some of my music doesn't have titles so doesn't appear in the list below) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4k1LS5n8p4
I met Sarah about 3 miles to home for a quick hello and cuddle.
The last half a mile has caused a slight worry - I felt something twinge in my left knee and had to hobble slightly home - hopefully some well-earned rest will do the trick!
